How to judge the mature of biofilm formed on the surface of MBBR Bio Media?
(1)Visual judgment
The biofilm is evenly distributed on the surface of the carrier. The closer to the carrier surface, the denser it is, and the looser it is. At the same time, the color of the carrier becomes darker, indicating that the carrier biofilm has entered the mature stage.
(2)Microscopic judgment
The biofilm structure is dense, and the microorganisms are diverse. The number of fixed ciliates, bellworms, and branchworms is the majority. The appearance of a small number of rotifers and swimming ciliates indicates the maturity of the biofilm.
